FAQ

  • What skills do I need to have for your workshops?

We tailor our workshops for all levels of photographers. If you are an absolute beginner or only use the Auto mode on your camera then you are best starting with the Switch to Manual session. Our other workshops build on these exposure and composition skills to look at other areas of photography.

  • Can I use my mobile phone?

Our workshops are aimed at helping those who want to take more control of their camera equipment. As mobile phones are limited in the control they offer we don’t currently run workshops aimed at mobile photographers.

  • Can I attend your workshops if I am under 16 years of age??

Yes, we have helped many young people to improve their photography skills. However, we would ask that you are accompanied by somebody over the age of 18. If they are not participating in the workshop with their own camera, they will not be charged to attend.

  • I don't have a camera yet, which one should I buy?

The choice of camera can be quite personal and each persons needs will be different. As I have run hundreds of workshops, I do have a good knowledge of the advantages and downsides of different makes and models of cameras. Send a message from the Contact page telling me what you would like to shoot, your approximate budget and amnything else you think I might need to know, and I can give you some recommendations.

  • How long do your workshops last?

Each session has an approximate time period on the booking page. As attendees can learn at different speeds, the sessions can sometimes over-run. I would much rather spend an extra 15 minutes ensuring you understand what you are trying to learn then finishing at an allotted time.

  • I would like to learn about a type of photography that you don't run a workshop for.

No problem. As a full-time working photographer, I have a wide-range of skills, honed over many years. I can work with you to develop a private and tailored workshop to help improve your photography.
