Best UK Black Friday 2023 Photo Deals

It’s that time of the year—a round-up of the best photography deals available in the UK for Black Friday 2023

In 1621, the settlers from the UK celebrated their first successful harvest in the corn fields of what became Massachusetts in the USA. This celebration turned into Thanksgiving, and this coming Thursday, thousands of Americans will be sitting down to a turkey dinner and celebrating in a similar way to a traditional Christmas dinner. The day after having such a big feast, what else would you like to do but go shopping, especially if the shops have decided to discount their prices? Black Friday was born by feeding this desire to spend money on out-of-season stock.

Today, Black Friday is no longer a day. I’m sure that, like me, your e-mail boxes have been filled with deals from restaurants to travel companies. Black Friday now seems to be a month rather than a day. To help you out, I’ve trawled through the thousands of e-mails to find the best UK photography deals for Black Friday 2023.

Kase Filters

I love using Kase Filters. They are less likely to break because of the fantastic Wolverine glass. Add this to the magnetic frames of the Armour system, and you have filters for life. I also like that the filters don’t apply any colour cast to your photos. From November 20th to November 27th, if you add the code BLACKFRIDAY23 at checkout, you’ll receive 15% off your entire order. Head to the Kase website to get this great deal.

DxO

I have used the Nik Collection for years. Silver Efex Pro is still one of the best tools to convert colour photographs to black and white. They also have the PureRAW program, which does impressive conversions on raw files to remove noise and anti-aliasing. There’s up to 50% off at the DxO website between 20th and 27th November.

ThinkTank

This isn’t a UK deal, but it’s definitely worth looking at. Your camera gear is expensive, so you want to protect it when moving around. I use a ThinkTank ShapeShifter for my Switch to Manual workshop – it flattens down to a few centimetres when not in use. Great for getting around a busy city. When I’m travelling further afield, the ThinkTank Airport rolling case is small enough to carry on a plane and big enough to carry two cameras, four lenses and a couple of flash guns. Head to the US-based ThinkTank website to see the great deals on offer.

Luminar Neo

This has to be one of the biggest Black Friday deals for 2023. Luminar Neo is an AI-assisted photo editing package from Skylum. You can buy a two-year licence for Luminar Neo and receive a free Creative Assets collection for £99, which is 83% off the usual price. Find out more at the Luminar Neo Black Friday page.

Affinity

There are lots of great deals for software editing tools. Affinity Photo is a popular program for those who prefer not to use a subscription service. The usual price of £67.99 is cheap, but this Black Friday, there is an additional 40% off, taking the photo editor down to £40.49. You can also buy the Universal package, which includes Affinity Designer and Publisher, for less than £100. Find out more at the Affinity website.

DJI

Do you want to give your photos a lift? Now is an excellent time to get into drone photography. DJI is the leading drone manufacturer, and some fantastic deals are available this Black Friday. There’s 20% off the fly anywhere DJI Mini Pro 3 and many more bargain prices. Head to DJI for more.

Adobe

I’m pretty disappointed that the usual Amazon deal for a discounted deal on the Adobe Photography Plan isn’t available this Black Friday. However, Adobe is offering one discount package for existing subscribers. Until 24 November, you can upgrade a single-product package to the entire Creative Cloud suite for £28.48 per month. That’s a saving of 50% from the usual price. However, it’s only available for the first year, and you’ll then switch to the standard pricing of £56.98. It’s still a good deal if you also use video editing and desktop publishing in your creative workflow.

When I usually write one of these Black Friday blogs, I add a line at the end with my deal for my workshops. I’m not doing that this year, as so many clients tell me my sessions are already outstanding value. If you’d like to learn to use your camera better, click on the available workshops at the top of the screen. Every day is Black Friday at Edinburgh Photography Workshop!
